Infosys Technical Lead interview questions

First 2 rounds are technical and 3rd is HR. I happened in infosys gachibowli office. It was a walkin interview. 100 of candidate came. I waited for hours to reach for the first round

Had one technical and then HR round. Had complete discuss with HR related to package and location. HR told we will release the offer letter within 1 week. Today I received an email saying, as discussed with you we will not be able to proceed further with you as your salary is already on the higher side. What the hell is the problem with the HR at Infosys. During the HR discussion, HR shown me the complete salary structure. Why can't they just such thing during HR discussion.
