The aptitude test was of a good level. The Group discussion round was very tough. The final interview round was technical and non technical both. However, the interviews are smooth. They also read your body language.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at HCLTech
Interview
I got into HCL through campus placements at my college. The very first thing was aptitude written tests. Whoever scored better marks were moved on for a group discussion. This was not just a ordinary group discussion where they would give a topic and ask the participants to start the fight. In fact the topic was a scenario where we have to consider ourself as the mayor of the city and discuss on what all changes we would bring to make the city a better place to live. At last the it was HR interview which was not difficult in my case and went on very smoothly. However I was lucky enough at that time as there was no technical rounds involved, thank you god :)
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at HCLTech (Chennai) in Apr 2013
Interview
The interview process seemed a little disorganized. It was a walkin and we had to wait for about 4 hours before being called in for an interview. The rest of the rounds were done with very qickly on the same day. I was made to feel at ease during the initial screening round and the technical questions were direct and relevant. Some questions were complex and phd. level. But I got an offer even though I couldn answer the very complex phd. level questions.
