I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Google
Interview
Very straightforward process: 1. Recruiter call 2. Phone interview 3. Virtual onsite (5 ppl)
Questions are all about product sense and analytical during phone interview. Had 2 product sense interviews, 2 analytical interviews, and 1 technical interview for onsite phase.
The entire experience was great except for the 2nd recruiter who took over my case as my 1st recruiter transferred to another role. The 2nd recruiter seems very unprofessional or not taking my case seriously. He even sent over the wrong time and assessment categories of the entire onsite interview. Fortunately, I had my referrer to double check and corrected that before the interview. Furthermore, he also sent a "canned email" to all the candidate for the feedback of the onsite. The words in the email included "to talk about results and next steps" really misled me that I would hear some good news. I don't want to blame him on the failure of the interview, but he didn't offer any help at all from the time he took over my case.

Question 1
Product insights and strategy:
What's your favorite 3 apps (Got asked for 3 times during the onsite), then the interviewer pick 1 and ask me to design the selected app for a specific user segment.
Analytical:
1. If you had a year to run any experiment for a product, what would you do?
2. How do you measure success for XXX
(It's really surprising that I wasn't being asked any estimation questions in the entire interview process, although I invested a lot of time practicing that)
The process was straightforward and moved quickly. After applying online, a recruiter reached out within a few days for a brief phone screen. That was followed by two video interviews, one with the hiring manager and one with a panel of team members focused on project planning and stakeholder communication. The whole thing wrapped up in about two weeks, and the team was responsive and clear about next steps throughout.

Question 1
I walked through a specific project where a key vendor delivery slipped. I explained how I flagged the risk early in our weekly status review, reset expectations with stakeholders, re-sequenced dependent tasks, and brought the timeline back within an acceptable range by negotiating a partial early delivery.
standard 1st round digital interview, they are asking about your experience, background, some behavioural questions and technical questions. and they also share a bit more about the role, culture and expectation
Very self-driven, first of multiple rounds, where I had to take the initiative to arrive at the problem, constraints, approach, solutions, tradeoffs and reasoning behind it in a matter of 30 minutes.
