I applied online. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Londres, Angleterre) in Jan 2026
Interview
The Goldman Sachs Superday is a rigorous four-part assessment focused on technical intuition and cultural fit. The process features three 25-minute interviews: a coding session involving complex scheduling logic where live-coding is encouraged to prove independence from AI; a systems design round focused on architecting solutions for large datasets using keyword frequency and data filtering; and a competency interview exploring leadership and personal high-achievement. The day concludes with a collaborative group exercise designed to test communication and precision under pressure. Success requires balancing theoretical knowledge, such as algorithmic complexity, with a personable approach that aligns with the firm’s collaborative culture.

Question 1
The final session tested technical expression and the ability to synthesize massive datasets into actionable insights. Challenged to summarize 10,000+ customer complaints, I proposed a data-driven solution focused on frequency analysis and keyword extraction. I explained how to programmatically filter "noise" using a blacklist array to remove non-essential articles, allowing the most critical technical issues—like system latency—to surface. By discussing data integrity and the logic of array mapping with senior engineers, I demonstrated a high-level understanding of how to architect scalable solutions. This approach proved I could bridge the gap between complex backend logic and clear, professional reporting.
The interview process was straightforward however the interview questions were very vague which made things tricky, as they would try to get you to refer to 'technical' examples despite the actual job description stating that you would not need to have previous experience of coding for this role

What is an example of a time when you had to use technical skills to solve a problem?
