I applied online. I interviewed at DriveTime Automotive Group in Sep 2023
Interview
I was contacted by Talent Acquisition Team Lead for a phone screen. She did not contact me at the scheduled time. I waited, called, and emailed. A few hours later she emailed me that something came up, could we reschedule.
On the rescheduled date/time Talent Acquisition Team Lead again did not call for the interview. She did not respond to my phone calls or emails.

Interview
So far I have gone through the first step of the interview process, a phone call with a recruiter. They will ask you about why you chose your degree, your experience, and pay expectations.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you choose your degree? What are your pay expectations? What technical skills do you have? What past experience do you have?

We aim to ensure that our interview process is fair and comprehensive, giving both you and our team the opportunity to explore the potential fit. We value every candidate's journey with us and look forward to the possibility of continuing through the next stages of the interview process with you. During the phone screen, the recruiter suggested another analyst position that she said I was also qualified for — let's call it role 2; however, she later realized that I actually didn't meet the qualifications for that role.
I ended up moving forward to interview with the hiring manager of the original position that I applied for. Towards the end of the video interview, he unexpectedly started talking about role 2 in depth, and — without asking if it's even something I'd be interested in — he said that my next interview would be for that role. I figured that was his way of indirectly rejecting me, so I was surprised when I was invited to attend the final interview, and it was for the original position.
The final interview was split into two back-to-back panel interviews. The recruiter told me to expect to complete a case study, which I was not given. Instead, I was asked the same questions in both interviews. I believe that the hiring manager never had any intention of hiring me, yet moved me forward in the process to meet some sort of quota. Also, while explaining a bit about the company, he stated, "I know that you had to take out a loan to pay for your car." I found it shocking that he made that unsolicited incorrect conclusion with such confidence, without knowing anything about me except for my resume.
Ultimately, I was sent two different automated rejection emails, one of which included a picture of their employees smiling and posing jokingly, and that was very offensive.
Thank you for sharing your interview experience. At DriveTime, we value feedback and continuously work towards improving our interview process to ensure a positive experience for all candidates. We are sorry to hear your experience was not positive, as our intention is to create a relaxed and comfortable environment. We appreciate your input and wish you the best of luck in your job search.
