I want to start by saying the level of unprofessionalism is one of the highest I have seen. I applied in 22.08.2023 and I am writing this review 23.10.2023 and there is still no response regarding my application. I applied for a Senior Android Engineer role and had a first interview with the Lead Technology Manager (Android) where we discussed about the position, requirements and expectations. In this interview the Lead Technology Manager explained that the position is remote and there are people working from all over Germany and Romania, however, if necessary, for some important meetings one needs to go to the offices in Frankfurt, Berlin or Bucharest (which was not a problem for me since I live 2.5 hours from Frankfurt). After the first successful interview I immediately received an assignment, which was super easy, making a REST call and displaying the results in list with some bonus points for tests, details screen etc. I solved the assignment it took couple of days and I also solved all the bonus points. After sending it over I received an email saying that they liked the solution and they want to schedule the next (last interview) they sent some time slots that were not working for me so I asked if they can send some other options.. Then they didn't respond, after which I followed with another e-mail asking for new time slots again. And again, they didn't respond. I thought to give it another chance since I spent time on the previous steps of the process. So, I sent one more mail and received an answer with new time slots. We scheduled the interview. This last interview was with the Lead Technology Manager (Android), Android Chapter lead and Product Owner. The agenda for this interview is as follows: 1. Behavioral session with Product Owner (30 minutes) 2. Coding assignment discussion (45 minutes) 3. Architectural discussion (45 minutes) Since I have been working in the industry for 7+ years I had no problem discuss with the PO, it was more like a conversation between 2 colleges than an interview (which I liked) and since my background comes from Security Product company, I had no problem answering the questions in the last two parts of the interview. Before closing the interview, they told me HR should reach out to me with details about salary, benefits, position (since they said they have 3 or more positions open), etc. This step went well until the last 5 minutes, when I was asked if I was ready to relocate to Frankfurt, after which I mentioned the discussion that we had on the first step where I was told that the position is remote. Also, I don't have strong NO however I will need to think about it, and I can give an answer to the HR when they call me to discuss the details. After the interview which in my mind went well since I gave detailed answer to all the questions and the topics that they had, I didn't receive any response. And then it happened, - 1 week after the last interview I wrote a follow up email asking for a timeline when I can expect answer from HR. - 10 days after the last interview I wrote another email, again asking the same thing. - 2 weeks after the last interview wrote another letter asking for feedback. - 17 days after the last interview, made a final call to the number which was in the job ad. No answer. I still have not received any answer, not from HR not from the technical people whom I was directing the emails (since I didn't have any email from HR, I couldn't write to them, only tried calling). And I cannot believe that someone would be so inconsiderate to other people’s time that they invest in the process. I tried remaining professional but this is frustrating someone spends days solving assignments and going multiple time on 2-hour interviews, and 4 people from DB included in the process cannot find 5 minutes to reply to an email? This tells me a lot about the culture in DB. And I am sharing it so that others don't spend their time with this company and invest their time in other opportunities.
