Hi - thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback and I'm very sorry to hear about your poor experience. While Karat has been super helpful to us to make our engineers don't feel overloaded with interviewing while we've been in a hiring surge, the primary benefit it gives to us is consistent, rigorous and 'blind' (for Deliveroo) technical assessments: they specialise in assessment across 100,000s interviews for all kinds of companies, and probably do it better than we can. It also allows us to offer 're-runs' (which we absolutely couldn't afford if it was our own engineer's time), which our data suggests has been helpful to candidates without much experience in this type of interviewing / have otherwise historically been excluded from those opportunities. The trade-off is Karat is definitely less personal and 'less Deliveroo' - not ideal, but for the moment felt like the right trade-off to make. I'm sorry if this has meant you were left with a less good impression of us: we're working to make this a lot better.
