I applied via a recruitment agency and was swiftly invited in for a first interview. The person I met with was lovely and seemed very knowledgable and passionate. It was mainly a skills/CV based, nothing too difficult. I was invited back for a second interview and they gave me a task to complete but I only had a few days to prepare it. I found the task to be very broad - it was to create an all round campaign for the launch of an exclusive partnership but they didn't give any information on the brand, objectives of the campaign or target audience. My specialism is in social but they wanted the candidate to advise also on CRM among other things. I didn't think the task was a very fair judge of a candidate's abilities. The second interview was 3 hours long and I met with various members of the marketing team. All the conversations seemed to go well and I left feeling quite positive but then they ignored my recruiter for a week before telling them they didn't think my task was good enough. Quite a disappointing end to an otherwise okay experience.
