I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Deliveroo (Londres, Angleterre) in Oct 2019
Interview
I interviewed with Deliveroo in October 2019 in London. I was approached by a Rec2Rec that was working with the internal team, and had an initial call about a role that sounded a bit junior for my experience. After hearing the detail I explained the level of role I was looking for and the Recruiter said he'd get back to me, which he did within 2 days with a more senior position. The Rec2Rec team did a great job prepping me, spent about 45-minutes taking me through what to expect.
I then spoke with the 'Head of' via VC before going onsite to meet with several of the team members. Each onsite interview focused on different aspects of the role, and I enjoyed learning about the different functions within the Recruitment Team. I was able to ask a lot of questions and it felt very conversational. I also liked that junior team members were shadowing the interviews, this showed me that progression was taken seriously and that there would be opportunities to mentor.
The formal offer took some time to come through, due to an internal announcement, but the hiring manager kept in touch throughout to assure me that I'd see something in writing soon. Overall the interview process was two weeks, but the time from initial call to written offer was more like two months.

Question 1
Talk me through your sourcing strategy
Most challenging role/stakeholder you've worked with
Describe a process you've improved/changed
The recruitment process appeared disorganized, with a noticeable absence of feedback following the interview. It seemed the focus was predominantly on gathering market intelligence rather than assessing candidate suitability. Additionally, the communication from the recruiter did not meet professional expectations.
It started well with an initial recruiter screen and a follow up interview with the hiring manager, who was great! However, it quickly went downhill from there. After being told I'd hear back in a few days, there was silence. I followed up to never receive a response. Then a few weeks later, I received a rejection email out of the blue. Given that the company requires candidates to go through 3-5 interviews, the very least I would expect a simple communication in return, especially to their follow recruitment candidates who could potentially be their team mates in the future.
Hi - thanks for taking the time to share and I completely agree with you - it sounds like we dropped the ball here and well below our usual standards. Would you mind dropping me an email so I can look into this, and maybe make it up to you (at the least to see if I can get you feedback?) jamie.edwards+glassdoor@deliveroo.co.uk

Interview
Very efficient / clear - there were 3 rounds including a pre screen. More senior roles had more interview stages. Good interview process with helpful interview panel. Would suggest reading company values and mission statement.
