I applied online. I interviewed at Cummins (Atlanta, GA) in Jun 2023
Interview
I applied to the position online and got an email from a recruiter at Cummins four weeks later. There was a phone screening interview with the recruiter and then a 30 minute online interview with the hiring manager, CIO, Distribution Business. I asked about the process, and she told me she would be making a decision by the end of July. After the second interview with the CIO, the first week of July 2023 , I followed up many times and never heard back. I kept following up given it was vacation season. I received no response, not even a system generated email. It is now mid-August and without any further information, I assume I have been removed from the process. This is really disappointing as Cummins has set up a new technology office in Atlanta, and the tech community is small. I would not want this to happen to my colleagues. The hiring manager mentioned in the interview that the business is doing really well and they really don't have to market themselves - if this is the case and business is so good, why can't the company deliver a solid, transparent interview experience? I would not recommend Cummins based on this and would love a response to my message from Cummins, as perhaps this is an isolated event. I did contact the recruiter multiple times directly. Of note is that she did not list her phone number on her email footer, so I did call the office and ask to speak to her, in an effort to reach her.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you had to get people to work together.
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Cummins (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2023
Interview
The interview process took 4 months from the time I applied to the job to being informed they’ve selected another candidate. There was little to no communication during the process. There would be weeks in between any communication then they would expect me to drop everything to attend an interview. The questions in the interview were generic and felt like they were read off a script. Even after all of this, the feedback I received during the interviews were positive. Even being called the “ideal candidate”. The only reason I even found out I wasn’t selected was because I reached out to them after a month of silence.

Tell us a time you dealt with a difficult customer and what was the outcome? What’s your strengths? What’s your weaknesses? Literally any generic, uninspired and scripted questions you can think of. They asked.
