I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Collabera (Seattle, WA)
Interview
This is a L1 interview conducted by Cogbee and focused on the basics of Java, SpringBoot, Micorservices, AWS, Kafka, SQL. Pretty much basic concepts in core java, java 8, spring core, spring boot, mysql, kafka etc. Asked me to write sample code using @Transactional in Spring.
A total of 35 to 40 questions were asked purely focusing on the fundamentals of the subject. If you are good at basics, then no need to worry. You can clear it easily.
All the best to everyone out there!
Final Result: Able to clear this round.

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Collabera
Interview
Phone call with questions. Interviewer was rude. Interviewer did not have soft skills. Was too blunt and asked awkward questions and seemed angry with the answers if they were not what he wanted
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Collabera (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2024
Interview
Look, I usually don't respond to the sweatshop-like staffing company emails, this time I got an email from an average joe, without the usual disorganized copypaste JD with the must-have yellow highlighter.
The screening call was the most unprofessional call that I've ever seen.
In the case of a $100k+ business, several minimum requirements should be equally applicable to all parties involved.
One of those is using clear communication, including proper equipment.
That day, that was not provided to me. 'interviewer_80' (or similar) voice was not audible, and the other interviewer, who was passive but clearly audible and understandable, did not take their role. This created a frustrating environment for all of us, everything else is just a consequence.
I really like to tell my journey, my experience, lessons that I learned, what motivates me, discuss a specific topic, etc. We ended up doing neither of those.
There was only one technical question, after I had my monologue about myself, how to join in pandas. From a senior ml engineer. Gosh.
This company is on my NEVER list. Congrats!
