I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cognizant (Chennai) in Jan 2011
Interview
The interview started with a handshake and introductions. The interviewer asked my areas of interest and my strongest subject. It was more like a conversation than like an interview. He then went on to ask if I was good at Problem solving and gave me a couple of small questions to write programs for. He then went on to ask about my interests. Finally he wanted to know if I had any questions for him.

I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cognizant (Vellore) in Jan 2011
Interview
It was an on campus interview at my college VIT University, Vellore. I was called exactly at 12:35 for interview. The first question asked by the interviewer was to introduce myself. The very next question was "Why I want to join IT company even though I am BTech Biotech student", I easily answered since I was expecting this question. Next he asked me to tell the achievements and aspirations. Finally he asked me some basic questions related to biology. At the end he asked me "Whether you are comfortable to take job in any city". I happily said yes. This was kind of confirmation for me that I have been selected.
My view regarding interview is they dont want to test your knowledge, their only aim is to evaluate your confidence and your communication skills.
