I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb in Feb 2023
Interview
Got phone call 2 days after application. Scheduled first round tech interview for the next week. This round has two parts, coding test with python and modeling knowledge test. The coding test is “two sum” from leetcode. Never prepared any leetcode type questions. Modeling test is quite easy, just asked some questions like how to deal with char and num variables for binary classification. How to evaluate model performance. Got rejection after 1 week. HR is nice and provided all feedback.
Which model could be used for binary classification problem. How to clean, manipulate char and num variables and why. How to evaluate model performance
It was a very thorough, engaged and motivated conversation. The interview was held amongst multiple senior managers. Leaning more on the casual side with little emphasis on advanced technical questions.

Question 1
What is it about the industry that attracts you to the role?

Interview
There were two technical rounds. I cleared both of them.
Third round was HR round which went pretty good.
I asked for industry standard 35% hike. But the HR keep on insisting on giving 15% hike stating that it was due to internal parity. One of my friend was also cleared the review and she had other offers. She was offered 70% hike with joining bonus. But for me HR didn't give me anything higher than 15%. Eventually I declined the offer. Really felt horrible about the culture.
