I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Mar 2011
Interview
I received the first round interview through my school, and then received an invitation to take an online skills test. After passing that, I was then invited to interview on campus at the McLean site. The second round experience was great: a reception at the hotel the night before, limo service to and from the train station, and a private room in a 4-star hotel...great experience! As for the interview, just remember to sleep the night before so that you have a clear head to do the arithmetic that they need for the case interviews. I feel that out of all the consultancy/financial companies--Capital One places the most emphasis on the ability to think and do math.

Question 1
How would you operate this ferry boat so that it can break even/make a profit?
I was referred so first a game like assessment that tested basically middle school algebra skills. Then a business case power day with three different interviewers, two of them were analytical and one was product
R1 was VJT, which was fairly simple. R2 was a screening case study, and lastly a Powerday. Powerday was grueling and cases were math heavy (bank related as well). Would recommend the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They gave a product and asked for multiple ways to improve it.
1 online assessment followed by Power Day with 1 product and 2 cases. Power Day was quite tricky with concepts being combined and tested in different forms. Staying calm and taking in every word is crucial in keeping up with the casing.
