Standard interview, background, experience and etc. The person from HR was nice and cordial. There was no timeline to hire the role though, so that was annoying. Seems like they are hiring because of the acquisition and merger.
answer lots of questions, online, and then there are more stages, but i didn't make it. Wasn't particularly difficult, but it was a lot of questions that required thinking and time
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CNN (Londres, Angleterre) in Jul 2025
Interview
Hireview questions x5 4000 characters each - It's quite tricky but not impossible, asks questions such as:
Why CNN?
A Good News story you've seen in the last 6 months?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Why this role? How will you fit in?
Links to any work....
Then about a month later I was invited to a Zoom interview with 2 senior producers...
They asked lots of questions (below) but basically it was just a simple chat about me and my experience - have examples of good and bad news stories you've seen and use the STAR method when talking about your past experience.

Question 1
If you were the only person on the newsdesk and a plane crash happened... what would you do?
