      Senior Reporter Interview

      May 13, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Londres, Angleterre
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CNBC (Londres, Angleterre) in May 2025

      Interview

The interview process was in multiple stages: HR call (they focus heavily on salary expectations... ), writing test then a first round interview. On arrival at the interview, the interviewers were friendly and made me feel comfortable and at ease during the interview. The questions were a mix of behavioural style (STAR method) qs and trying to understand my experience in the journalism industry. There was no mention of next steps at the end of the interview, which suggested to me that there wasn't interest in progressing me further. Over two weeks later, I was told they were reconsidering the role internally and no longer hiring for the position at this time. Even though the role was no longer being hired for, it would have been good to receive some feedback from the hiring manager considering the time put into the process.
