CGI Junior Software Engineer interview questions

One phone interview and then an in person technical interview. The position was for a government contract and unfortunately they started interviewing too far in advance of when the contract would actually be awarded.

Applied on 9/24/21 and heard back to schedule an initial phone screening on 10/27/21 (a month later). First interview on 11/3/21 was a 30 minute one-on-one with a senior consultant. Basic questions about my past experiences and what I knew about a few technologies. Very easy. Second/final interview took place on 11/16/21. It was two 30 minute rounds; one round was more technical and the other round was more behavioral. The technical portion did not involve any code. I was asked about my past experiences and then judged on my knowledge with random questions about some technologies. The behavioral portion was more of the same old "tell me about yourself" questions. The technical interviewer did not seem interested in being there. After being assured I would see an offer prior to 11/22/21, which is when I had a competing offer deadline, I heard back that the Thanksgiving holidays are affecting their decision-making and it might take a little longer. The team apparently had "absolutely fantastic feedback" on my interviews and they just needed a little more time to finalize a decision. Reaching out on 12/6/21 for another progress update, I heard that the leadership team was "dragging their feet" and they hope to see a decision within a week. Already knowing the decision was not going to be made, I reached out on 12/20/21 and never heard back. Thus, I was ghosted after being assured my interviews were fantastic and being strung along under the excuses of holidays and slow decision-making. Clearly, they were waiting for their first-choice candidates to make their decisions but keeping me along just in case. Combine that with being ghosted, and CGI was a very unprofessional interviewing experience.
