1 coding problem each round (mid level), system design in the last round
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ByteDance (Pékin, Pékin) in Dec 2019
Interview
Got a call from the recruiter in Dec 2019 about the position in Beijing. Had a round of technical interview onsite and never heard from them since about the position. Dead silence without even a no response. Months later got a message from a difference recruiter of theirs on interviewing a similar position. I simply ignored the message and never bothered to know more about opportunities in that company

Finding a 7-day rolling average for DAU of a particular product
3 rounds:
first was with HR and second with department heads and focused on experiences and technical expertise, last one was with mentors/supervisors just to see if you're a team fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
(1) initial HR interview (brief run through of experiences, basic questions of why you want to join, what can you offer etc.) ; (2) interview with the head of the department (more technical, more specific to the products and services offered by the company and job scope, current issues, commercial & tech awareness); (3) interview with the potentially assigned 2 supervisers (way more relaxed, simply just to see if you're a character fit, team work ethics etc.)
