I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Bain & Company (Ann Arbor, MI) in Feb 2015
Interview
A pretty typical and automated interview process for a large consulting firm. Recruiters were young, enthusiastic, professional, and from a variety of backgrounds. Interviews centered around case studies with minimal personality questions beforehand. There were two back-to-back case studies with different interviewers, each lasting about thirty minutes. They interviewers were running late, so I was disappointed to have my second interview cut off for time purposes. The interviewer was quite rude when calling back to tell me I did not receive an offer.

Question 1
Name a time that you failed at something and what this taught you.
Bain interviews feature multiple rounds assessing case studies, behavioral fit, and problem-solving agility. Candidates tackle live business cases with interviewers, demonstrating structured analysis, quantitative skills, and teamwork. The process emphasizes 'case team fit,' collaboration, and real-time feedback, often including written cases or group exercises in final rounds.
3 interviews, all remote, two cases and one experience. Experience was background based, informal, hadn’t reviewed my resume beforehand. Both cases were difficult, second one the interviewer was more difficult to answer.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Bain & Company (Kuala Lumpur) in Sep 2022
Interview
Standard case interviews - 2 rounds with 2 interviews each. Interviewers were very nice, mostly colleagues that we work with. The scheduling is also very flexible and recruiters are very accommodating
