Applied online and was offered a phone interview with the hiring manager for that area. Phone interview consisted of basic admin questions and details of an in store interview, where I was expected to do a 5 min presentation on a DIY product and a 1 to 1 interview with the store manager.
At the in store interview, there were 4 other people, where we were told we were not going to do the presentation, but instead just doing the 1-1 interviews. The 1-1 went well and the questions were easy. The following week I was informed that I was offered the job as the managers liked me. However, the job is no longer available due to unforeseen circumstances.
Overall I liked the staff at the branch I applied for and it’s not their fault this happened. However, can’t look past that this was a complete waste of every candidates time.
Two people interview, usual sales questions. Asked me to sell a pen to them. Very standard, nothing difficult. Friendly atmosphere, made to feel welcome. No prep required, lasted 30 minutes one stage process.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at B&Q (Londres, Angleterre) in Jun 2021
Interview
It was very relaxed, not intimidating and allows you to speak about your generic interests that may help you be a good employee for them It was a very straightforward process, very quick also.
