I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at AstraZeneca in Apr 2014
Interview
I applied on their website and received an email to schedule a quick phone interview with a recruiter. The first phone interview was basic. The recruiter asked for what school I went to, my GPA, classes I took that were relevant, and an overview of my relevant experience. Basically, just have your resume available because you're basically reading off of it. The recruiter clearly had no technical background since I had to spell out "spectroscopy" for her. After the first phone interview I was contacted by the hiring manager and we set up a phone interview. It lasted ~45 minutes. It was a mix of behavioral and technical questions. The technical questions were tricky but he didn't seem to mind that if I got them wrong. He just simply told me the right answer and said he didn't expect me to know he just wanted to see my thought process. The hiring manager told me that he was interviewing three other candidates before he could make a decision. A week later I heard back saying I got the job! I was required to do a basic drug test and background check.

Question 1
If you have a boring day of tedious experiments, how do you keep yourself motivated?
I applied online kind of late, so most postions were filled. They contacted me through email rather quickly and I set up an appointment for a phone interview with a recruiter. Then I was contacted again through email to set up my second phone interview, this time with the Hiring Manager. Questions weren't too bad.

I applied online through the website, after that I was told about 2 weeks later that I had been successful and was being selected for a phone interview. I had to arrange for a convenient time. I had the phone interview and now I am waiting for the next step
