Was reached out to by a Linkedin Recruiter for this role. My knee jerk reaction was that I did not want to work in San Jose, but was definitely interested in the product so I continued through the process.
Went on to interview with the hiring manager. He called me 7 minutes after he said he would and was very low energy complaining that he was having a long week and had been having long nights working. He did not ask me many questions. When I asked him about what the role would he like he kept sighing and gave very little detail, I went through the entire product portfolio and he could not describe to me what I would be working on. When I asked him how this role came about he said that they just needed to get some bodies in the room to get this product moving. In addition, he mentioned that there was a lot of politics in the office and that the group that was hiring was seen as the lesser group. The icing on the cake was that I was told that I would need to come into the office 5 days a week post COVID... by the end of it I knew I did not really want to work there but I kept going to see what could happen
In the end got a call that the interview went well but that the max salary for the position was $92k... As a Global PM??? In San Jose???
