      Engineering Intern Interview

      Jan 16, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Air Liquide in Nov 2011

      Interview

As a college student, I met Air Liquide at a career fair and talked to a few of the representatives there. There were two of them; they were extremely helpful and even advised me on my resume! Afterwards, they extended to me an interview offer, to which I accepted. From that moment, it was apparent to me that the Air Liquide representatives took care to conduct themselves in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner. Although it was likely that I would not routinely meet them if I do receive the internship, it was a pleasant glimpse into the nature of the work environment there. The interview was extremely relaxed and simple. I again met up with one of the representatives, and we began to go into very general questions. The position I was applying for directly involved chemical engineering, but there were no technical questions asked during my interview. Instead, they were more character based: "When have you ever demonstrated initiative?" for example. There was a sheet of paper that he was pulling the questions from, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't dramatically vary from person to person (I have no way of substantiating this, however). After the interview was completed, he said that in the near future, I will be conducting a phone interview with an on-site supervisor. I have yet to receive the second-round offer, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it happened very soon.
