I applied for a marketing data science role. 1st interview with Hiring Manager. At the beginning it was ok, she explained they wanted to hire their first data scientist and she focused on the scope of the role. Then, she started saying that in the future they would have liked to hire a data scientist focused on demand forecasting as well (quite a different role from marketing data scientist, but ok). 2nd interview it was a presentation of a business case entirely focused on demand forecasting. I didn't find the topic of the business case relevant for the role, at all. Furthermore, it felt pretty obvious that nobody was listening during the presentation. I felt that there was not a structured strategy behind this hiring process. It was even mentioned that the marketing data scientist should have been able to take demand forecasting responsabilities as well. I don't see this two roles connected in any way. Last but no least, I felt the company had no data driven culture at all.
