IKM JAVA 6 SE Test
The reason I am posting this is , there was not much information about this test when I had to take, so this might be useful.
My experience of IKM Java 6 SE test is :
The test is not an easy one. I mean for me it was very confusing as I have not been working on Java based projects recently. It tests your understanding of OOPs concepts, access modifiers, inheritence, enums, threads, N/w. Actually you can look for IKM result analysis sheets and that sheet has scoring on each sections. Tht way you will know all different sections for the exam.
But overall, it is not an easy exam. It is confusing, unless you know all the concepts of core Java clearly. Well do understand all the java concepts and when I was working on Java Projects, i was quite good at them. But now, while giving the test , i was confused cos of lack of time prepare/REFresh.
It has some different logic to scoring, which I am still confused.
That's about the test.
The test tries to check your theoretical knowledge of confusing concepts of JAVA, but I cannot really understand how that proves that you are good developer.
Hope this helps someone , who is going to taking IKM test. I have given mine, but I am waiting for the result. Donno.. what's going to happen.. but I am hopeful ..:).
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Accenture in Jan 2015
Interview
Applied Online. Was contacted by one recruiter who was recruiting for a specific position. Phone screen seemed to go well, and recruiter was supposed to get back to me but did not, and did not answer a follow-up email. Applied again for a different position a few weeks later and was contacted by a different recruiter who was not recruiting a specific position, rather for a specific group. Second recruiter was excellent and fast tracked my process. After the initial phone screen I had a technical phone interview the next day, and the day after that a face to face (online) interview with a senior manager. Received an offer the day after that. Technical interview was based on my resume and the Java language in general. Nothing tricky, just knowledge-based stuff to ensure you really do understand the things you put on your resume. Face to face with Sr Manager asked a few behavioral questions, but felt like more like a formality and chance to ask some questions of them about the company and position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about modifiers, polymorphism, JDBC basics, design patterns, etc. A review of the things on your resume should be sufficient preparation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Accenture (Washington, DC) in Feb 2015
Interview
HR interview followed by two technical interviews. Each of them took 45min. Interviewers were pretty nice. We even told some jokes and laughed together. They asked me some of my experience on resume. The last interview was more of a behavioral one.
Overall, I would get ready to explain your past jobs. The background check was quite exhaustive.
