I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Galway) in Apr 2018
Interview
The first stage was the online application, this consisted of multiple choice and scenario based questions along with a few simple maths equations. It's rather time consuming and took about 45 minutes to complete. About a week later I got called to attend a group assessment, there were only 3 of us there so it was fairly relaxed. The Area team manager was very friendly and explained the role and told us a bit about the history of the company. We were then given a couple of maths tests, similar to the application form just simple adding, subtracting, multiplication and dividing. Then we were given a group assignment where we were stranded on a desert island and asked to list items from 1 - 12 in order of importance. This is to see how well we work as a team. The whole assessment lasted about 40 minutes. I then got an email about a week later inviting me to a one on one assessment. The one on one interview took about 30 minutes, the area manager was very friendly and put me at ease. I was asked to tell her a bit about myself and then went through my cv. This was followed by a few scenario based question, what to do if there's a spillage on the floor and your the only member of staff around etc. I got an email the next day saying I passed this stage and inviting me to a 2 hour store experience next week.

Interview
Aldi interviews are done in stages. The first stage was an online application which took a little over an hour for me to complete. The second stage was a group assessment. This was done by the area manager, there was supposed to be 7 of us but only 2 showed up. To start we introduced ourselves (name, previous occupation, in our case we're both students so we talked about our courses) after that was a short test where we calculated change and matched product names (similar to the online application). I believe we got 5 minutes to complete 10 questions, I skipped one of them ( there's 28 5c coins in your till, how much is that equal to?). After that test we were given a plane crash survival scenario where we had crashed in Canada and had 11 items we were to list from most to least important. This exercise is all about team work so make sure you're heard but that you listen just as well. After this we were asked if we had any questions, I asked about contact hours and how they work around students schedules. I'm now onto the third stage which is a one on one interview with the area manager, I believe I'm to bring a copy of my CV (Bring one to every interview just in case!!). If I get through this stage I believe the last one is to do a 2 hour trial run in a store with a store manager.
