I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ALDI (West Footscray, Victoria) in Jul 2016
Interview
Group interview consists of sitting around a table whilst the area manager asks a series of questions. You will be asked to introduce yourself to the group including any hobbies, where you live, and any previous work experience etc. Area manager then asks what are the differences between aldi and other stores, and why they are better and more efficient. Was asked the opening times and what time the employees are expected to start and finish. Was then asked whether we had any questions about the job or aldi in general.

Interview
So the interview processed was broken up into 3 sections. Well thats how Id like to distinguish it. The first part the Area Manager would introduce himself and then ask us to introduce ourselves, give some background and what our hobbies are. Next would be What do we know about Aldi. It is really important to do your background knowledge on Aldi and its successes, especially what makes them different to their competitors. There were a lot of discussions where you have to make the initiative to answer and show that you really know Aldi.
Next we had a walk around the store where the manager asked us how the whole checkout point system worked. He would then explain to us a few key areas in the store and what makes the store efficient.
Lastly we would be back in the interview room and each person would have a 1 on 1 talk with him. He first presented me with a maths quiz that had addition, BODMAS and If you were given $100 and the total cost was $$ what would be your change. He would then ask about availability, how many hours you can work and what store you were you located closest to. Overall the whole interview took about an hour and a bit more. Feeling extremely nervous about it so all the best to future applicants hope this helped you :)

Interview
I applied online and was successful getting a group interview. Turns out there was an error with their system and the interview wasn't supposed to happen when I selected, so it was just a 1 on 1 interview with one of the store managers. A few days later, I got a call that I'd been successful in getting to the second interview, and interviewed in the same store with someone of a higher position (forgot what title). The interview was very short, and I guess I didn't do the best job highlighting my skills, because I got an email just a few hours later that I hadn't progressed further. However, she said she narrowed it down to about 10 applicants for the second interview, from a pool of 500, so I did get pretty far.
