I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI (Gainesville, GA) in Jan 2011
Interview
I went and filled out an application at one of their many hiring events. I was told that there was only one position available and that there were around 500 applicants and only 15 interviews. I managed to get an interview, but I felt it was more like an interrogation like others have said. It was only a five or ten minute interview (which I had to drive an hour out of my way for) where he asked me why I wanted this job and what my previous work experience was. Then I was told that there would be a background check. I told him that was fine and he persisted on, asking me if they would find anything if they went a number of years back. I was then asked if I had done any drugs. After I told him no, he looked at me square in the eye and asked, "Are sure you have never done ANYTHING?" I already said no... I never got a call back, but I don't want to work for a place that treats me like a criminal anyway...

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI (Milwaukee, WI) in Jan 2011
Interview
Found out about a ALDI's job fair from the company website. Had to be there at 6AM! At the job fair they have you look over all the requirements for the position you want to apply for. After you fill out the application, you sit down at the table with about 6 or 7 different managers. Its like speed dating! They ask you can you perform the duties, why do you want to work for them, and that's it! They tell you they will call you in two days if they are interested then they move on to the next one! I drove 30 minutes at 5 in the morning to get there and I was only there for about 15 minutes tops! I shoulda stayed in bed...
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ALDI in Oct 2010
Interview
The interview began with a "disclaimer" and honesty. I was aksed about my previous work experience, what tasks I'd performed, my reason for leaving, my educational experience, and what I know about the compnay and why I want to work for Aldi. Then I was asked if I had a criminal record or a history of drug use.... something I have NEVER been asked before.... that's what the background check and testing is for, right?
