The interview process is very relaxed. The interviewer just has an informal chat with you and makes it seem like more of a conversation than a formal interview. But it’s a multi step process, first you have an interview with a manager if you are successful you have another interview/show around with the store manager in which both the manager and store assistant assess you if you are successful at that, you come back to sign a contract.
Interview questions [6]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself (talk about hobbies or education)
The earliest time slot is the best, you have fewer people to compete with. They ask you about your experience if you have any, if you don't they want to know how you interact with others. They might ask you about your favorite product in the store. Be prepared to name something and explain why. The job is not just one thing, you will be on the cash register, stocking, possibly cleaning the bathroom, and reorganizing the store when it gets messy.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ALDI (Coalville, England) in Jun 2024
Interview
lots of tests before a face to face interview, then an "experience" day, which is just a quick tour of the store, then you wait for about 48 hours to find out if it's yes or no, a word of warning, they judge you on what they perceive is your physical ability, sadly this often means that age comes into it and it there's a younger candidate then you lose
