Pros

Benefits, I suppose. That said, Yardi lords its benefits over employees as a way to deflect complaints about low pay.

Cons

Management abdicates management responsibilities to HR. The company practices a pernicious form of constructive dismissal if they tire of you. Experienced managers/professionals with fresh (or any) ideas need not apply. They only want recent college grads who can be molded into the Yardi way of doing things and who are willing to accept low wages as a way to gain experience. Do not ever, EVER, under any circumstances, approach HR about anything. HR exists to protect the company’s interests. They are very aware of this, but as you can see in their boilerplate responses, they are completely disingenuous about it. The positive reviews are almost certainly solicited from newbies who don’t know any better.

It is unfortunate that your experience at Yardi did not reflect what 80+% of others have said here on Glassdoor – Yardi is a great place to work. We take particular exception to your comment that we “lord” our benefits over our employees. For over thirty years, since the company had less than thirty people, Yardi has been committed to taking care of its employees. One way to do that is to provide all of our employees with benefits that include having health care premiums paid in full by the company. While this may not seem important to you, our feedback is clear that it’s especially important to our employees. We are proud of our practice of paying 100% of health care premiums, continuing our profit-sharing contributions, and providing the many other benefits that our employees say are most important to them. Regarding your comment about reviews being by new employees, we have never gone to our new employees to ask for reviews. That would be disingenuous. Look at the years of employment of people writing reviews and you will see that your premise is incorrect. Is HR existing to protect the company? Of course it is. The company’s motto is to take care of employees and HR helps us fulfill this mission every day. With hundreds of people staying at the company for twenty years and more, we think HR does the right thing for our employees.

Pros

Great teammates to work with

Cons

Extremely high turnover rate. Management doesn’t take what employees have to say into consideration and shoots what employees say down. Extreme micromanagement. Management works from home whenever they want but doesn’t allow employees to but then continues to say that Yardi is not a work from home company. Management is barely there and gets away with everything. There is extreme pressure on the team and everything is based on numbers. Management is contradicting and favors some people but targets others. Management is not confident, is disrespectful and irrational. Management doesn’t help out the team when barely making deadlines and doesn’t even know how to if they wanted to. Management did not allow us to collaborate with other teammates. There was extremely low morale and it became a draining working environment. There’s no winning in this department. Management lies in emails to employees.

It sounds like you are upset with your Yardi experience and hope that readers can see that your experience does not reflect what 85+% of others have said about the company on Glassdoor. Our company prides itself with very open communication channels between all levels of hierarchy. Yardi does not show favoritism and we truly believe in the growth of hardworking employees based on knowledge. We take these types of comments very seriously and encourage anyone who feels this way to each out to our VP of HR to further discuss. We hope you find something that better suits your needs.

Pros

When I left Yardi? No Pros.

Cons

Management does not communicate project direction well. VP lies through his teeth. Management will throw people under the bus and not stand up for it's workers. No room for growth, promotions were more done based on favoritism versus merit.
