Pros

The people are fun, very social and young, everyone is under 30 and for most its the first job out of uni. You get to speak with very interesting people, CEOs etc of huge multinational companies

Cons

where to start.. 1. Pay is awful, you are essentially expected to make 10-13k a month for the first 3 months for the company. Dependant on your role RA1, RA2, Associate, Senior Associate you are expected to make 13k, 25k, 36k, 40k ish for the company PER MONTH and you barely see 30k a year which is very unfair, yes there are bonuses but they do not compare and are often very low. In a very good month as an Associate you would make maybe 1k. 2. Team leaders are young, usually become a TL after a year or two in the role are all around 25 and managing 6-8 people. Literally "the blind leading the blind". VPs are no better. 3. New initiatives are constantly being rolled out, never standardized and never around long enough to see if they actually work or not 4. Very high turnover rate 5. Boring and very repetitive work 6. Mircomanaged to the max, you have to show what you are working on every hour of the day and the whole office can see it. 7. Constantly giving "feedback". 90% of the time you don't know what you're supposed to do with it, the feedback you give is never really taken seriously (note all glassdoor reviews for example, nothing has changed and management is fully aware of them). Team Leaders have to give feedback monthly, even if you are doing things well they have to find things wrong and give feedback on it. 8. No loyalty. You are never safe from being fired people that have been there for over 2 years that have consistently performed are terrified of not hitting targets for even a month or two in fear of being fired.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to let us know how you feel about your experience. We are truly sorry to hear you felt that everyone was miserable and that your hard work went unnoticed and that you were micromanaged. It is especially disappointing to hear of your experience since as a company we encourage an environment with no drama, coaching to the positive and where there is attention and recognition for a job well done we will reward you. But clearly something was not right here and you felt strongly about writing it in the public sphere. While we understand that we are not perfect, we like to think that we are living our values and work ethics to a much greater extent than what you experienced. Just to put you in the loop, since you have left we have done a major review of salaries across the company, especially in the UK and the US offices. There have also been major improvements in change management and we are looking at hiring more talent from outside of the company. If you would like to share more about your experience please contact us by emailing theteam@thirdbridge.com so that we can set up a time to talk. Thank you again for the feedback as it helps us make Third Bridge a better place and helps us become more aligned with our purpose and values. - Team Third Bridge

Pros

The work environment is positive and the company has a good vibe to it. The job is very easy to do and even a fool should be able to sail through it.

Cons

The actual job is incredibly stupid and a real waste of your time. The website doesn't explain the job clear enough but this is essentially a call centre job. Third Bridge arranges phone conversations between people who need information (like say an investment fund) and people who have that information (say an executive at a rival company that the fund is looking to buy). Your job as the research associate is to facilitate the phone call. That's it. So you find relevant people on Linkedin, try getting a phone number, then get them to agree and then set up the call. That's all there is. You do not participate in on the call and you learn nothing on finance/strategy or anything of that sort. All you learn is cold calling and some call centre skills. I didn't know all of this when I joined (which explains why I left early) but anyone with even a bit of self respect / career ambitions should stay clear of this call centre company.

Pros

A very young environment and a meritocratic culture where the most efficient rise to "the top". An interesting and interested senior management and a transparent culture. You will be captivated by their success story. But don't give up your own fulfilment and career ambitions to pursue their dream (see below).

Cons

Unstimulating, robotic, thoughtless drudgery is about 90% of what I do. A lot of unhealthy competition with people elbowing each other to get ahead. A generalised psychotic obsession with one's own and everyone else's targets. All this primarily born from the very minimal basic salary which forces people to constantly worry about their monthly bonus, sacrificing their free time and sanity in the process. This job is about becoming as efficient as possible at doing an extremely specific task relying on totally untransferable skills. You can jazz it up all you like in future job interviews, and Cognolink certainly do when they sell it to you, but you're essentially a cold caller in a trendy office.
