Pros

You receive free coffee and treats. You can make you own schedule based on you needs and school. You wear the same outfit daily which cuts down on expenses. Regular customers are fun and generous in tipping. You look forward to seeing them and they you. During the holiday season you can take advantage of the discount and pass it on to them. The right customer will make your day. They will treat you right and bring you treats and goodies. It is like a family. They share their ups and downs and you can make them feel better by being a listening ear.

Cons

They hire stupid people as management who are lazy and not professional.

Pros

The benefits are more than adequate. From someone at an entry-level position, the training and career opportunities are very good.

Cons

More so than in the past, the environment has become one that does not tolerate "dissent", even in the form of respectfully asking for guidance or clarification of the company's position or direction. As one rises through the ranks, the amount, specificity (as to job function) and quality of the training is lacking.

Pros

Not only do we get a pound of coffee/box of tea a week w/ a killer discount, but we are "partners" - we feel like part of the company. Even though there are significantly more customers who are rude and act with a feeling of entitlement than customers who are nice and genuine, I enjoy interacting with customers - one of my favorite parts of the job. Starbucks cares and wants employees to be knowledgeable about all of the coffee and their products. I like my job alot, but sometimes with customers and employees under estimating us, it can get difficult.

Cons

starbucks is what you make of it. if you want to be a step up from mcdonalds you can work here. if you want to be like a real barista you can work here. Management cares for the most part what you have to say. I work in a metropolitan area, so I believe that its different than the majority of stores. managment that are outside hires are difficult to work with - they don't know all of the work that the baristas do, and kind of slack. the work you do is to help out everyone else. we help and set each other up for success while providing legendary service to customers - something outside hires don't quite understand.
