Pros

The company offers good compensation by industry standards. There are opportunities to really expand your technical ability with a wide variety of multi-modality equipment at a large hospital site. They integrate with Hospital Biomedical teams and share resources so you almost feel like you're a member of an in-house team.

Cons

You don't have the OEM support and training. The company will pay to send you to third party service schools like RSTI , DITEC, and Sonora. However, The OEMS have really closed ranks on preventing Sodexo service personnel from training at their service centers. As a result, the onus is on you to learn what you can by studying schematics and building relationships with OEM service personnel to get up to speed on new equipment. It's probably best to work for an OEM before you join the company, because after you join, your growth is limited and your value tends to diminish.

Pros

It is a good place to get experience in the Biomedical field. I did enjoy my co-workers, but generally they were as frustrated as I.

Cons

Management is incompetent. They treat their employees like slaves and don't expect you to have a personal life. They are only concerned with how much the bonus checks will be. My manager would have been a strong contender in the Special Olympics. I was often forced to take Comp Time when I actually had worked overtime. The on-call system is terrible. Who wants to get out of bed at three in the morning to go in to change a battery.

Pros

The job is a good place to start for most employees, and there are always positions available for those who are actually interested.

Cons

The hours are long and hard, employee turnover in the location I was at was high, specifically because the locations were staffed mainly by students. For this reason, it became necessary, often, to work in their place. Management structure was impossible to negotiate, and often left little power in my own hands.
