Pros

Absolutely nothing, can't think of one.

Cons

The supervisor and friend in transportation are mean girls- lack leadership and are hateful people. The supervisors hold you back from growing and learning. Dated computer systems. Low pay. Still using green screens. If people are frequently leaving there are major issues. I have zero respect for devious unethical supervisors running transportation. They have a lot of dumb people in high places running transportation. Transportation supervisors gossip and play favoritism. Drivers leave because of the transportation supervisors not because of Sygma . Treat ALL drivers well and in turn they will take care of the customers. Lazy, uninvolved transportation supervisors who sit in their offices and desk and do nothing. Transportation supervisors create a very poor work environment by being backstabbing liars. Transportation supervisor protects her childish friends from being written up. The supervisors think they are entitled to respect. President is letting the transportation supervisors ruin a good company because of old school management style (ruled by intimidation and harassment).

Pros

The health insurance is good. If you want an easy office job, with no challenge, and easy-going co-workers, then this is the job for you. The majority of employees are a mix of newbies fresh out of college, or "lifers", because SYGMA used to fund a nice retirement pension (no longer), so many were able to settle into their management roles. Flexibility for work-life balance is nice too.

Cons

If you want a real career with opportunities for advancement, look elsewhere. Nepotism and favoritism determine whatever few advancement opportunities appear. Actual work ethic, achievement, and performance outcomes do not determine advancement here. This is a recurring theme, and once an employee understands this, s/he tends to begin looking for a new job. The work itself is simple, but the volume of it is excessive. Salary raises are sparse, company-wide. No new employees are offered a bonus potential.

Pros

Director of Operations is second to none. He cares about his employees and goes above and beyond to help them in anyway. Fights for his guys.

Cons

Understaffed and younger generation does not want to touch the freight.
