      Pros

      Salaries and benefits were very good and hard to meet or beat in any other employer

      Cons

      Decisions by top senior management to totally close the manufacturing function let over 2,000 employees go and sent the work to Singapore. Thanks sooooo much. So much for career stability.

      [STMicroelectronics India] Good company to work with if you are in H/W domain, ok but not great for S/W domain.

      Pros

      Good work life balance Job security Good company to join in senior position > 40 yrs. All documents and information required for work and any area of interest available. Independence and freedom to experiment, improve, innovate etc.

      Cons

      European style of working, very laid back. Not good for freshers. Senior management is driven by European bosses, don't have much say. Compensation is OK, below industry benchmark. Avenues for career growth gets reduced as experience increases since company growth is below average and senior people won't quit till retirement !
