Pros

Lots of opportunity for locum work, job security, routine lifestyle and decent compensation. Well respected work outside of the hospital, and opportunity to meet some inspirational people

Cons

Unmotivated staff, lots of locum staff who don't know what they are doing, lots of people taking sick days or taking advantage of the system. Very PC environment but most staff with low morale

Pros

I have really enjoyed working for the National Health Service which from its early days in 1948 has developed into a model of health care that Britain can be proud of. Many countries around the world could benefit from a similar system.

Cons

As with all large organisations, communications may sometimes take time.
