Pros

Large corporation with many locations, opportunities. Good benefits

Cons

The salaried staff were treated as indentured servants. Paid for 50 hrs/wk, rarely worked fewer than 100. Low salary for front-line leadership. Expected to treat employees badly.

Pros

They offer great pay and benefits, the average age of equipment is far better than most LTL companies.

Cons

Everything is seniority based; there is no reward for anyone to doing anything other than the bare minimum to keep their job. This basically means if you have a strong work ethic you spend a lot of time picking up the slack from workers who do not.

Sucks to be new

Pros

The pay is good for being new and the benefits are pretty good. It's a good way to get into LTL or driving in general. The company gets equipment fixed quickly and there are generally enough trucks that you don't have to worry about being short on rigs.

Cons

You're told you will work full-time all year and then winter hits. Suddenly you aren't getting 40 hours (sometimes no where near it) and the line-haul runs get lean. Depending on your dispatch supervisor you may or may not get runs you are supposed to get which cuts into your paycheck. You don't actually get 10 hours off or decent sleep most nights because you have to call in to your supervisor to find out if and when you are working.
