Pros

Hours are good and the healthcare benefits are half way acceptable

Cons

Everything else is bad about this place especially the favoritism. No room for advancement whatsoever unless you previously knew management on an intimate level

Pros

In the inspection center side of this company, hours are fair with most weekends off. Benefits provided are also some of the best I've experienced with a company.

Cons

Working for DriveTime has shown me the true colors of the illusionist that keep this machine moving. DriveTime will preach growth, career pathing, individuality, but is it truly welcomed? They will use something they call "Emotional Intelligence." to tug at your heart strings and manipulate you into thinking or doing things that are actually not to your benefit, but theirs. I've watched Directors embarrass their employees in front of others for their own personal gain. I've watched general managers praise people development, but speak about them negatively behind their backs. False leadership perpetuates in this organization. Blind to all but power, profit, and gain. This company lacks an HR department and has something called "Talent Support." Which I have seen commenting on some of reviews for this originzation. Employees are encouraged to call this number, but when they do, they are attacked and ostracized until emotionally defeated that they quit. If talent support truly cared about its employees, it would actively seek resolutions with the employee itself. Not send directors who are the problem to resolve them. I challenge talent support to be there to help mitigate and solve these problems amicably. Actions speak louder than words as they say. Lastly, are this companies AMP candidates. DriveTime has a program that allows individuals not truly expirienced in the automotive world become leaders within the company. These individuals are usually brought in as General Managers or Directors. As I've seen it, these individuals hold these positions very sacred, and will do anything that they can to hold on to them. These individuals are not truly open to feedback or suggestions. There is no teamwork involved, no conversing, and most of all, no leadership. Their intentions when affecting the business are purely selfish. These individuals lack the basic problem solving skills, the cognition, the open mindedness that it takes to operate a successful business. If you are an intellectual, you will be perceived as a threat and immediately socially oppressed, to prevent you from ever achieving personal growth.

Pros

Was able to make some good money during my tenure there. They will promote you if they like you even if you don't have the skill set so that's a pro to some. They would buy lunch for the team about 2 times a month.

Cons

Where do I begin? They create positions that do not make sense like an ad position (supposed to be like a district manager) but when you go to them for advice or an answer they always have to reach out to someone else. And you may not get your answer until days later or even weeks. They bring on these people from the outside called amp candidates who do not know anything and they expect the sales manager to train them to become gm"s that's how it worked in Houston. You are always being told you will get fired for doing this or doing that so you don't even want to make a decision with out reaching out to someone. Then they give you feedback and tell you have no managerial courage .. what a joke
