Well, Meh and Shady about Covers IT
Pros
Co-workers were great to work with, although I feel sorry for the institutionalized ones who know no better than to stick around. The IT oncall was not too bad. Leftovers in the lunchroom from constant management pow-wows was a nice touch - I suppose.
Cons
There's very little in the way of top-down communication. My so-called manager filtered anything that came down from upon high, so one had second-hand rumors about how the shady cabal ran the show. Can't say much for the dysfunctional management always coming up with ways to look important, and if necessary, summarily throw his or her reports under the bus. The St. Paul facility is stuffy and way outdated. I couldn't imagine bringing a client into that place. If you can imagine the Joe vs the Volcano office scene then you have an idea. There's really no where to escape for lunch nearby other than a sandwich shop just over the tracks. I can tell you about 90% of the IT staff turned-over since I left through attrition and layoffs. I'm in a much better place now.
