Pros

Great level of trust and autonomy in the role, with managers empowering you to make decisions and take ownership of your work. Communication across teams is strong and transparent, making it easy to stay aligned and feel supported. The company actively champions development, with plenty of opportunities to grow your career if you’re willing to put yourself forward. The people are a real highlight. They are supportive, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Five stars!

Cons

There aren’t many major drawbacks, especially with the flexible/hybrid working offering but if I really had to pick holes the contracted hours in my area are 40 per week, which can feel a bit long compared to other roles. Additionally, the holiday allowance isn’t the most competitive, particularly when compared to some corporate positions.

Pros

I have worked for Currys for around twelve years and in that time I have had the opportunity to progress through a number of different roles, which for me says a lot about the business and the opportunities it can offer if you are willing to put the work in. I originally started as a delivery driver, then moved into an installer role, before progressing to electric and specialist installation work. Currys then supported me through my gas qualifications which allowed me to become a gas engineer, something I would not have achieved without the backing of the company. Having an employer willing to invest in training and recognised qualifications made a big difference to my career. I later moved into a full time role working for the Currys Trade Union as a regional officer, completed my CIPD Level 3, and eventually became Vice President of the Union. Even though this role sits outside the normal operational structure, it still came from experience gained within Currys and shows that there are different career paths available depending on what you want to do. Like any large organisation there are challenges at times, but overall my experience has been positive. The business has given me long term stability, opportunities to develop new skills, and the chance to move into roles I would not have expected when I first joined. Good opportunities to progress if you are prepared to put the effort in Training and qualifications supported Variety of roles across the business Long term career potential

Cons

Large organisation so change can sometimes take time Can depend on the manager and department you are in
