Pros

Decent Salary but comes with strings attached

Cons

Bait and Switch-was hired as a remote employee and was just told it's mandatory to return to 5 days in office. Multiple vacancies on my team for over a year now and the balance of the team is expected to just absorb the additional workload while being told to also travel weekly. No respect for work life balance and expected to work nights and weekends to stay afloat and you get chastised for taking scheduled pto (bc that means someone else has to take on your workload while you're out). Antiquated software and business practices. The rating and support staff is also severely short staffed and one week a month you cannot get any endorsements or service items completed due to booking policies-that is an entire quarter of the year that nothing can get some-completely unacceptable! How do you expect Underwriters to sell "Chubb" to brokers when we're telling them that the current turn around time is 30 days for an endorsement when our competitors are able to turn around service items in a week or less. Burnout is real with this company take that into consideration when accepting an offer.

Pros

Your peers/team, local Management, Health/Wellness benefits, PTO (when you are with the company for years, you do receive generous PTO), technical resources, training options.

Cons

Morale is extremely low and Senior Leaders don’t even acknowledge it. No diversity at senior levels. Senior leaders / CEO declared an “in office” company over a year ago and is extremely out of touch in not wanting acknowledge flexibility - other than how they define it - is a requirement. Flexibility is defined as 2 days remote and 3 days in. It’s all hands on deck to hire - but, they have the magic solution…trust your employees to work when and how they want. The company reached historical financial results and proved they can work anywhere/anytime with success. Culture is toxic

Pros

Chubb's strengths lie in its brand and its wide range of products across nearly all business segments and geography. With that breadth of product and reach, there are many professional opportunities and challenges that come with working at Chubb. I have found that my colleagues are very collaborative and are eager to share their knowledge with one another. At Chubb, you'll never be idle, if that's what you are seeking. I appreciate that I work for a company that is as highly regarded as it is. Benefits are fairly good and there are solid HR policies, though there are exceptions, like weak maternity/paternity leave.

Cons

A strong brand and product are only enough to motivate employees for so long. As an employee, there is incredible pressure to grow, grow, grow. And there is additional pressure to be perfect while trying to grow. Annual goals increase at unattainable rates. Technology is extremely buggy which makes doing the actual work that much harder. Staff turnover since the onset of the pandemic has caused remaining employees to be overworked and has exacerbated turnover even more due to slow hiring of replacements, who then need to be onboarded. Salary raise this year was laughable (it was effectively a salary decrease when factoring in inflation) and bonus was lower than it would be at a competitor. Where's the loyalty for sticking around and working my tail off without complaining (except on Glassdoor)?
