Pros

Most coworkers are smart, dedicated. Working for AP in a reporting or editing role allows you to be part of the accurate telling of news from around the world. Intelligent, thoughtful, balanced conversations always precede decisions about how a story will be told or an event will be covered.

Cons

Everything comes down to your specific manager, many of whom are stretched thin. If your manager is great, you'll thrive. If you have a manager who isn't, he or she is very unlikely to get moved or dismissed -- and that will directly affect your experience, mindset, growth and chances for advancement.

Pros

You get a front row seat to history.

Cons

Where do I begin? The company began a steady decline about 12 years back and leadership is unable to successfully manage current and pending challenges.
