      The biggest mistake I ever made was accepting this position

      Pros

      None - there are some perks (cafeteria, gym reimbursement, wellness programs), but nothing out of the ordinary for Silicon Valley

      Cons

      Abbott Vascular has an outdated, hierarchical, toxic culture. Normal behavior is not tolerated. They want you to be a "yes" person. Do not ask questions or propose alternate solutions... just do whatever is asked of you if you want to succeed. Your previous experience will not matter and you will not have any credibility until you've been at AV for a very, very long time. The processes are completely manual, but if you make a mistake, they will document that it is 100% your fault and make no efforts to improve the process.

      Meaningful company mission - Bettering people’s lives through the power of good health. They really take care of you here: - 24 years old entry level sales $70k- 80k base + $25k bonus - 7% profit sharing - Company car - 401k 5% $-$ match - 3 weeks of PTO, 3 floating holidays - Health, dental, and vision insurance the first day you start Clear territories and sales expectations with competent leaders.

      In my opinion it was really hard to get into Abbott. Make sure your resume stands out with higher education and have clear achievement measurements on your resume if you’re in sales.

      Good salary and benefits when compared to other companies

      Cons

      Management is terrible - some are not even management material! HR and Employee Relations are useless and don't address mistreatments, retaliations, unethical behaviors and toxic work environments.
