Learn more about our <a href="https://hrportal.ehr.com/applied/" target="_blank"><span><u>benefits</u></span></a>. </p><p></p><p><b>Position based in Bernin, Grenoble area (France, 38).</b></p><p></p><p>To support our growth, Applied Materials is recruiting a <b>Software Technical Support Engineer</b> on a permanent contract.</p><p>You are responsible for the installation, configuration, testing and validation phases, follow-up, customer training, and all corrective actions related to the software and network solutions installed on the equipment sold to our customers and used in a cleanroom environment for semiconductor manufacturing.</p><p><b>You work in support of our customer service and process support teams within the client’s cleanroom, and travel up to 75% of the time.</b></p><p></p><p><b>Main responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Installation et configuration (35%)</b></p></li></ul><p>· Install and configure software solutions on customer equipment in a cleanroom environment (MS Windows environment).</p><p>· Configure the equipment network to enable communication with the customer’s network.</p><p>· Improve existing procedures and document new ones as needed for internal use.</p><p></p><ul><li><p><b>Customer support (35%)</b></p></li></ul><p>· Provide assistance and expertise in analyzing the performance of installed equipment.</p><p>· Analyze issues reported by the customer or the local team on production equipment related to installed software.</p><p>· Plan interventions to resolve performance issues (configurations, software updates, data recovery, etc.).</p><p>· Escalate unresolved issues to a community of software experts to obtain solutions for the customer.</p><p>· Support the customer in developing and deploying new automation solutions (SECS/GEM protocol) in the cleanroom.</p><p>· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity (deployment of new software solutions, diagnostic tools, script development, etc.).</p><p>· Create an environment conducive to developing new business opportunities.</p><p></p><ul><li><p><b>Testing &amp; validation (15%)</b></p></li></ul><p>· Develop simulation platforms replicating cleanroom equipment configurations to validate new software solutions before deployment.</p><p>· Test solutions using equipment-specific test plans aligned with customer requirements.</p><p>· Validate installation procedures and update them when necessary.</p><p></p><ul><li><p><b>Projects (15%)</b></p></li></ul><p>· Contribute to solution/product design, testing, documentation reviews, and conferences.</p><p>· Stay up to date on Applied Materials and external software and network solutions.</p><p>· Ensure internal training of local teams on software-related aspects of cleanroom equipment.</p><p>· Leverage proximity to engineers and knowledge of equipment to propose pragmatic and innovative solutions aimed at improving industrial performance.</p><p>· Ensure compliance with Applied Materials and customer quality standards.</p><p></p><p><b>Your profile:</b></p><p>· Master’s degree (Engineering School, Bac&#43;5) in IT/Networks, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Maintenance, or related fields.</p><p>· Recognized experience in demanding production or maintenance environments (semiconductors, aerospace, medical, nuclear, automotive, etc.).</p><p>· Interest in hands-on, field-based work.</p><p>· Ideally, prior operational experience in large-scale industrial ramp-up environments.</p><p>· Ideally, dual skill set in IT &#43; mechanical or IT &#43; electronics.</p><p>· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities and unforeseen situations.</p><p>· Excellent communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to build trust with various stakeholders.</p><p>· Curious, rigorous, structured, analytical, and adaptable to dynamic environments.</p><p>· Able to work autonomously.</p><p>· Fluent in English (oral and written), enabling interaction with international colleagues and customers.</p><p>· International travel is required for this role (up to 75% of the time)</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Additional Information</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Time Type:</b></p>Full time<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Employee Type:</b></p>Assignee / Regular<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Travel:</b></p>Yes, 50% of the Time<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Relocation Eligible:</b></p>No<br /><br /><p>The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
