About the role

Our Project team for Europe is currently evolving and is integrated into the Group Engineering and Construction (GEC) department. It focuses on engineering and delivering capital investment projects in collaboration with Engineering contractors and Solvay Business units.

As Solvay is implementing a large modification program for our La Rochelle site, we want to expand our team with a high‑performing Senior Project Manager.

As Senior Project Manager (SPM), you will be responsible for managing the assigned key projects, you will interface with the Global Business Unit (GBU) management throughout project implementation and will communicate progress to the Project Steering Committee monthly, at a minimum.

You will be accountable for Project Design and Execution, Project Governance and Leadership.

Project management covers all aspects of executing industrial investment projects in Solvay’s manufacturing facilities (both “grass root” and expansion-based projects in the process industry). The projects will follow Solvay’s Project methodology, based on a stage gate approach with Front End Loading Phases 1 to 3, followed by an execution phase. The Project Manager is assigned during the FEL-3 phase and will follow the project for the complete lifecycle if the project is approved to progress to the next stage.You will report directly to Solvay’s Head of Projects.

We offer a permanent contract based on hybrid working mode. Office location is La Rochelle, France.

About you

• Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
• PMP or other Project Management certification is a plus.
• Relevant work experience (minimum history of 10 years) in successful project management on large-sized industrial capital projects (€20-50 Million) and experience in working within and/or managing international project teams is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership history in supervising direct reports and third-party engineering contractors within virtual engineering teams in the successful completion of projects through commissioning and startup activities.
• Experience working in international teams.
• Fluent command of English and French languages.

About the pay and benefits

• Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the primary country (France) base pay reasonably expected for this role is EUR 90,000 to EUR 110,000, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Vous interagirez avec la direction de la Global Business Unit (GBU) tout au long de la mise en œuvre des projets et communiquerez au minimum mensuellement l’avancement au comité de pilotage des projets. Vous serez garant(e) de la conception et de l’exécution des projets, de leur gouvernance ainsi que du leadership associé.

La gestion de projet couvre l’ensemble des aspects liés à la réalisation de projets d’investissement industriel sur les sites de production de Solvay (projets « greenfield » et d’extension dans l’industrie des procédés). Ces projets suivront la méthodologie de gestion de projet de Solvay, basée sur une approche « stage gate » incluant les phases de Front End Loading (FEL 1 à 3), suivies d’une phase d’exécution. Le/la Project Manager est désigné(e) dès la phase FEL-3 et accompagne le projet tout au long de son cycle de vie, sous réserve de validation pour passage aux étapes suivantes. Vous reporterez directement au Head of Projects de Solvay.

Nous proposons un contrat à durée indéterminée en mode de travail hybride. Le poste est basé à La Rochelle, France.

Votre profil

• Diplôme de niveau Master en ingénierie requis, avec une préférence pour le génie mécanique ou chimique
• Certification PMP ou équivalent en gestion de projet appréciée
• Expérience professionnelle pertinente (minimum 10 ans) en gestion réussie de projets d’investissement industriel de grande envergure (20 à 50 M€), idéalement dans des environnements internationaux
• Expérience démontrée en leadership, incluant la supervision d’équipes internes et de contractants tiers en ingénierie, dans des équipes virtuelles, jusqu’à la mise en service et le démarrage des installations
• Expérience de travail dans des équipes internationales
• Maîtrise courante de l’anglais et du français

Rémunération et avantages

Rémunération attractive et équitable : le salaire est défini dans une fourchette visant à favoriser votre développement dans le poste. Pour la France, le salaire de base attendu se situe entre 90 000 € et 110 000 € brut annuel, avec des ajustements possibles selon votre expérience et vos compétences. Un package de rémunération globale compétitif incluant bonus et/ou autres incitations est également proposé.
