I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 months. I interviewed at US Air Force (Georgetown, TX) in Nov 2008
Interview
Talking to the recruiter is easy enough, you just need to pay attention to the fine print or else you end up working cleaning sewers or making eggs. The recruiter, in my mind, doesn't have your best interests in mind. Be smart and don't sign anything until you are ready and satisfied with your contract. Get a guaranteed job before shipping out.. Don't go in Open General because that just means they'll stick you wherever they need you.

Question 1
What do you enjoy or have any interest in doing? This is important because you're signing a contract for a minimum of 4 years guaranteed. If you make a bad choice those next few years are going to be rough. You'll end up bitter and unhappy which will lead to more issues down the road.
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at US Air Force (Tampa, FL) in Oct 2009
Interview
Very professional. Gave me an opportunity to showcase my skills, experience, and knowledge. Used a combination of interview approaches to gather the necessary amount of information to resolve whether my resume reflected my true skill set and potential to the organization.

Question 1
Tell me more about yourself. This is always difficult because you don't know what they are really after, conversation or a simple demonstration of ad hoc conversation.
