I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at UPS (Boston, MA) in Sep 2011
Interview
Process begins with a phone interview. You are then contacted by an HR representative that does a screening over the phone. Once you check out, you are then scheduled for an interview with the same hiring manager or a different one. Once you pass the interview and accept their offer, you go to the warehouse to check it out, meet some potential co-workers and get a feel for the atmosphere.
The hiring process was kind of generic. You responded to an ad in the paper or applied on the website. They had an automatic scheduler for mass interviews.... the presenter gave you a quick crash course on the company and position w/ a tour.
You will be in a large group with a bunch of other unsuspecting fools that will think they are getting the whole picture. You'll get a start date, but not a date when you will actually start making money. If they make you an offer... take my advice and just run the other way as fast as you can!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When can you start? They'd hire anyone that had a heart beat, as long as they could work like a slave. ...Your most difficult question will be the one where you decide to commit yourself to slave labor.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at UPS in Nov 2011
Interview
First you apply online. Then automatically you are given a time and date to come in for a pre-interview. They tell you to come in a collared shirt and khakis. When you meet with an interviewer at this step, they are just trying to weed out people. So if you answer the questions that they want, then they will setup a time and date for the actual position interview. Once you come into the second interview, they will ask the typical interview questions. And if they like you, they will offer you the position.
