Without the ability to hire a great team, your business won’t prosper. The most successful businesses know exactly what they are looking for in a candidate because they know the position well and the company culture better. Interviews are used to determine whether or not the candidate has the qualities and characteristics you’re looking for in a great hire. These ten companies have established specialized interview processes that are able to identify great hires who become members of high performing teams.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at QAD (Santa Barbara, CA)
Interview
I applied online through a job website and the interview process took an incredible 10 weeks. I first did a phone interview a week after I applied. Nothing out of the ordinary, just personality questions. The interviewer was an HR person and knew nothing about the position. 2 weeks later I did a phone interview with my would-be manager. It was pleasant and she actually talked about the position in detail. 2 weeks later I did an in house interview with the previous mentioned interviewer, her boss and 2 co workers. Again it was very pleasant and easy. No hard questions. A week later I get an email from the head of HR that my interviewers liked me but it would another 2 weeks that they would hear from me because they were busy with an upcoming trade show. I'm getting kind of frustrated but I still anxiously wait because the position and the company sounded amazing. I get an email within that week asking for a background check and employment history. I am really stoked now. I promptly return the requested material. 2 weeks go by. I receive an email stating that the position has closed.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at QAD
Interview
Met with a representative at a career fair for my university. After handing him my resume, I received email contact about a week later asking me if I was interested in the job.
The first phone call was simply a screening: Company and position overview; How did I hear about QAD? Why would I be a good fit for the position? Salary? Location? Describe self in three words?
About a week later after the screening, I was to take a simple personality and logic test, conducted over email and through a website.
Shortly after I was contacted to speak to a group of managers over a conference call. I was asked to describe myself, my projects, and my academic experience. Each of the managers took turns asking me various questions, nearly all of which were behavioral. There was a lot of emphasis on describing my projects.
After about a week, I was extended an offer.

Question 1
Nothing out of the ordinary. There is not much to stump you, they really are interested in gauging your personality and fit via behavioral questions, rather than technical ones.
