Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work with the company? Tell me about yourself
Pretty standard. Started with phone interview. Next was an in-person interview with the team which was split into three 30 minute sessions with two people each then 30 minutes with the manager.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Johnson Controls (Milwaukee, WI) in May 2011
Interview
The interview was very easy and I felt overprepared, which was better than not prepared at all. I was sent a schedule for the day, even a sheet for reimbursements if I was coming from out of state. I met one-on-one with an HR rep for about 15 minutes and a recruiter for about a half hour, who let me ask any questions I had. The HR rep asked me a few standard questions, what did I know about the company, salary request. The recruiter filled me in on the company benefits, only two weeks' vacation (that was disappointing to hear coming from a position where I have three weeks' in just three years). I met with the supervisor who asked what I knew about the company, and I also met with three senior writers. Overall, no one asked those standard "what are your three disadvantages" or "tell me about a time when you had a conflict" kind of questions. They all pretty much let me tell them about myself and my work.
