I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY) in Sep 2022
Interview
The APM Interview process is quite an extensive one. The first round is a 45 minute call with one of the Google PM's which is aimed at testing your product sense, strategy and estimation skills. After you clear this round there are 5 different video interviews before the hiring team makes a decision. I had given the first round-phone interview in October 2022, but have not received an update as Google has a hiring freeze in place.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview started with introductions. I was then asked a product sense question where I was given a particular product and asked what would I do to monetize the product if I was a PM at the company. I was then asked to estimate the initial user adoption for this product in the first year.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google in Oct 2022
Interview
Had a smooth first interview. What happened afterward was very unclear, and it seemed like neither the recruiter or online resources could explain why no one was advancing to the next round of interviews. Kept getting generic messages about "interviews being on hold" for months before finally getting a "we've filled the position" message.
